Why does the Pet Barrier pad exist?
A great deal of rug pad ends up in landfills. Most of it is latex, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or clay bound pad that breaks down in a few years, off-gasses chemicals into the home, and can stain or discolor the floor it was meant to protect.
Our pad is built the other way around. The felt is made from 100 percent recycled fiber and is 100 percent recyclable. There is no latex and no clay binder, so there are no odors, no off-gassing and nothing to stain hardwood, vinyl or tile. Our Closed Cell Technology adds a Pet Barrier that keeps most spills and pet urine from soaking through to the floor. The materials are tested and approved as Green Label Plus by the Carpet and Rug Institute, and the pad is washable, which is why rug cleaners can offer it with a Life of the Rug warranty.
